1000volts – Lights Out

1000volts is a new collab by Redman & Jayceeoh (who’s remix of +1 we featured back in February). I love how this one really does apply to the trap sound, a perfect mix between hip-hop and electronic. Though the lyrics might be a little predictable, the vibe is great – chilled, tight and unique. ‘Lights … Continue reading

Prince Fox – Fragile (feat. Hailee Steinfeld)

Prince Fox is back with another original and this one has a full single release. ‘Fragile’ is definitely more on the the pop spectrum in comparison to earlier releases, with piano-backed ballad verses and an electronic chorus and bridge. Expect to be hearing more of this soon!

Martin Solveig – +1 (feat. Sam White) (Jayceeoh Remix)

I’m not a huge fan of the original but can certainly see it’s appeal. With it’s infectious vocal hook, heavy bass and tight production, Martin Solveig is doing a good job at turning his output into pretty respectable dance/house at the moment. Duke Dumont – Need U (100%) (Ookay Remix)

Lovely little remix of┬áDuke Dumont’s breakout hit, ‘Need U 100%’. A pioneer of the new-age US trap scene, producer Ookay (pronounced ‘okay’) takes the now very familiar A*M*E vocal track and sprinkles it over a killer instrumental. Having been confined to the realms of club-oriented hip-hop, producers such as Ookay have transformed what has always … Continue reading

Fetty Wap- Trap Queen (KHS / Josh Levi Cover) [KLYMVX & Samuraii Remix]

Although being released almost two years ago, Fetty Wap’s ‘Trap Queen’ only saw commercial success in the UK until quite recently, spawning the usual array of stripped down covers and tropical house remixes galore. This one is a remix of a version by KHS and Josh Levi, who was on the final of X Factor … Continue reading

BLU J – OVRNGHT CLBRTY

Sometimes you stumble across strange things on soundcloud, and sometimes those strange things are pretty decent! ‘OVRNGHT CLBRTY’ is a genre-hopping, dance, trap, house, disco, hip-hop effort from duo BLU J. It’s actually a remix of a rap track by Twista released in 2004, and if you listen carefully you might notice a cameo from … Continue reading
